Taking Charge of Your Life
Is it time to take charge of your life?
We understand how difficult it is to make life changes, especially when the start is changing yourself, but with the help of our workshop, you can do it.
Taking Charge of Your Life will help you to:
- Learn how to combat stress
- Learn new communication skills and techniques
- Learn how to deal with conflict
- Understand passive, aggressive and assertive behaviour
- Manage your time and make time for you
Riding the Storm - Help and advice for parents of teenagers
Is your teenager driving you nuts?
Are you always arguing with your teenager(s) and don't know how to stop? Do they do things you just don't understand? Do you find that you're unable to talk anymore?
Our workshop will help you understand what is going on with your teenager(s) and take steps that will help you and them.
Riding the Storm will help you:
- Understand the pressures of being a teenager today
- Develop good parent habits and break any bad ones
- Manage the arguments at home
- Set sensible boundaries
- Re-build your relationship with your teenager(s)
- Learn about the drugs your teenager(s) may come into contact with
Moving Forward, Taking Charge of Your Life and Riding the Storm are run over 7 weeks (3 hours per evening) or over two consecutive weekends. The cost of the programmes are £100 each (payable in advance). Concessions available; please ask for details. Courses start throughout the year.
Basic Counselling Skills
Would you like to learn skills to help others?
Counselling Skills for Non-Counsellors is designed for individuals wishing to acquire basic counselling skills for use at work, home or in the community. Please note: This course does NOT prepare learners for professional counselling careers and is not suitable for individuals requiring individual attention or counselling.
Counselling Skills for Non-Counsellors will give you:
- Increased awareness of the counselling process and the skills involved
- Practice of some basic counselling skills
- Development of the ability to manage interviews using counselling skills
- An awareness of ethical issues and the need for support whilst using counselling skills
- Development of sensitivity to the process of change
Basic Counselling Skills is run over 7 weeks (3 hours per evening) or over two consecutive weekends. The cost of the programme is £125 (payable in advance).
Student numbers for all workshops are limited to ensure course quality and trainer/student ratio.
